Ayodhya and Ram Janmabhoomi Tour Overview

Here is a possible 2-day itinerary for a trip to Ayodhya, based on popular tourist and pilgrimage sites:

Ayodhya and Ram Janmabhoomi Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Morning (Ram Janmabhoomi & Hanuman Garhi): Start your day early with a visit to the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, the birthplace of Lord Rama. Many sources suggest that it's customary to visit Hanuman Garhi, a 10th-century temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, before the main temple.

Afternoon (Kanak Bhawan & Sita Ki Rasoi): After lunch, explore Kanak Bhawan, a beautiful temple with golden idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. Nearby, you can visit Sita Ki Rasoi, a symbolic kitchen believed to have been used by Goddess Sita, which now houses an exhibition of ancient utensils.

Evening (Sarayu River & Ram Ki Paidi): As the sun sets, head to the banks of the Sarayu River and Ram Ki Paidi. This is a serene spot where you can witness the mesmerizing evening aarti (ritual prayer) with hundreds of lamps lighting up the river. Consider taking a peaceful boat ride during this time.
Day 2
Morning (Nageshwarnath Temple & Treta Ke Thakur): Begin your second day with a visit to the Nageshwarnath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples in Ayodhya, believed to have been established by Kush, the son of Lord Rama. Then, head to Treta Ke Thakur, a temple where it is believed Lord Rama performed the Ashwamedha Yagya.

Midday (Dashrath Mahal & Tulsi Smarak Bhawan): Visit Dashrath Mahal, the ancient palace of King Dashrath, Lord Rama's father. You can also explore the Tulsi Smarak Bhawan, a memorial to the poet-saint Tulsidas, which includes a museum and library.

Afternoon (Shopping & Local Cuisine): Spend some time exploring the local bazaars of Ayodhya. You can find religious souvenirs, idols of Ram, and traditional sweets like peda and laddoo. Don't forget to try the local street food like kachori, jalebi, and lassi.

Departure: Conclude your trip and head to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
